Nathan A. Holmes, 52, passed away on June 30, 2010 after a long illness due to a car accident that occurred in 2003. He was born July 2, 1957 in Fairfield, California, to Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Sara Holmes.

Nathan leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Helen Holmes and five loving children: Sara Holmes, Laurie Holmes , Melissa Lawrey of Manteca, Nathan Holmes Jr. of San Francisco and Marie Holmes of Manteca. He was blessed by 8 grandchildren.

He leaves his loving parents Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Sara Holmes of Manteca; his siblings, Loraine Frazier of Ohio, Lois Riggs of Sacramento, Renae Wands of Manteca and Bud Watson of West Virginia. Nathan leaves many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Nathan worked for Speckels Sugar Co.9 years where he was a friend to all. He was known for loving the outdoors and enjoying every bit of it. He did anything from bicycling, fishing and taking long drives through the country. Nathan enjoyed the trips that he took every year with his family to Santa Cruz and Santa Clara. He wrote songs and played his guitar beautifully; he especially loved to write songs for his wife Helen who cared for him all of the 7 years that he was confined due to the car accident. Nathan will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, son and friend.

Mr. Holmes’ services are being handled P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 North Union Road. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Following a Celebration of life at 1p.m. interment will follow privately. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 2555 49th St., Sacramento, Ca 95817.
