Nellie De Vries, 90, of Ripon went to be with the Lord on Monday August 16, 2010.   Nellie was born in Platte, SD to Henry and Jennie Woudstra.  She was the sixth of nine children and was in the second of three sets of twins.  She was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church of Ripon.  She was a homemaker and spent 25 of those years as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Some years after the death of her husband John Van Ravenhorst, Nellie married Jack De Vries and they had many happy years together.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Jane (Don) Munkres, stepchildren Merle (Elsie) De Vries, Marilyn (Joaquin)  DeLeon, Leatha (John) Driesen, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, sister Margaret Van Elderen along with many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Van Ravenhorst, second husband Jack De Vries, parents, Henry and Jennie Woudstra, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Bethany Home, 930 W. Main Street, Ripon, CA 95366.

Visitation will be held at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Ripon on Friday, Aug. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m.  A graveside service will be at Ripon Cemetery on Saturday, August 21 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 111 South Palm, in Ripon at 11 a.m.
