Nicholas Edmund Roorda
beloved son, brother, and friend Nicholas Roorda passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2015. Nick was born September 29, 1983, in Modesto, CA. He attended Modesto Christian Elementary and graduated Turlock High School, class of 2002. Nick served in the US Army Reserves and worked with Dave Roorda Farming alongside his father. A lifetime member of the NRA and member of local and regional Jeep clubs, Nick also enjoyed golfing and sharing his culinary skills with friends and family.
   Nicholas is survived by his parents, Jeanne Risdon, and Dave and Teresa Roorda; his siblings, Elizabeth Roorda (Christopher Yong), Carolyn Roorda and Robert Roorda; neice and nephews, Christopher, Alexia, and Dominic Yong; his dog and companion Shifty; as well as his close and beloved friends.
   Services have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels, and a visitation is scheduled for this Friday, June 19, from 5-8 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at Ripon Cemetery, Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at Almond Valley Church in Ripon.
   Donations in loving memory of Nick can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org, a foundation that was very dear to him.
