Nina G. Smith, 88, passed away December 29, 2010 in Tracy due to natural causes.  Born on May 17, 1922 in Berryville, Arkansas, she has called Tracy her home for the past 60 years.

Nina was a member of the Center of Hope Church, formerly known as the Northside Assembly of God Church in Tracy.  Because of her 60 years of dedication to the church, the church’s social hall was named after Nina and her husband Wade.  She was a former board member and Sunday school teacher.  Nina was involved with church fund raising, which included making quilts for Missionary word and assisting the church treasurer, and along with her late husband Wade they were very much involved with the church.  She enjoyed quilting and gave each of her grandchildren one.  Spending time with family and friends were very important to her and she was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  When her husband Wade retired they enjoyed traveling together and during these past few years Nina enjoyed going to the Senior Center and having lunch with her friends every Wednesday.

Her survivors include her daughter Barbara Hall and her husband Leon, and Judith Smith, all of Manteca; her grandchildren: Leonna Kay Tate and her husband Dan of Placerville; Derek Hall of Santa Cruz; Damon Stokes and his wife Marie of Minden, NV; and Casey Stokes and his wife Connie of Atascadero, CA; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Sabrina, and McKenna Tate all of Placerville; Delaney Hall of Ripon, CA; Jennie, Taylor, and Brnadon Stokes all of Minden, NV; and Katelynn and Coleby Stokes of Atascadero, CA; and his sister Marianna Ashford of Sanger, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wade Smith and her 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 from 11am until 1p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel.  A chapel service will follow on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy.  Her final resting place will be at Tracy Public Cemetery.
