Norman Gould a long time Resident and Business Leader of Manteca passed from this life to the next on October 10, 2013.

Norman opened Gould Tax & Business Service in 1966 on Alameda Street preparing tax returns for the then small community of Manteca, a practice that is still serving the residents of the Manteca Area.  He served in many capacities around the region in his volunteer roles and as a trusted financial advisor.  He was very active in the March of Dimes drives, Manteca Rotary, Salvation Army Volunteer, 1st Assembly of God Church Board Member and even a former City of Manteca Planning Commissioner.

Norman was born in Rodgers Arkansas 80 years ago on January 3, 1933 and entered into the US Army at the young age of 14.  After a short hitch in the Army, he re-enlisted in the Air Force and joined the Air-police guarding Nuclear Bunkers in the mid-west and as far away as Africa and Japan.  After the Service he headed out west to attend the University of the Pacific in Stockton CA where he met and married Josephine Catalano, a Manteca native, and they moved to Manteca to begin their lives together.

They had two sons, John and Mark and continued to live in Manteca for the balance of their lives.   Norman was blessed with 7 grandchildren from his sons and they were his pride and joy.   Norman’s service to his clients was unsurpassed by everyone and he worked in this office everyday up to the age of 80 years old.

An open to the public memorial service will be held Saturday October 26, 2013 at the Place of Refuge Church in Manteca at 11 a.m.
