Odis G. Allen, a resident of Dos Palos, CA, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at a hospital in Los Banos after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 74.

Odis was born April 29, 1937 in Dos Palos, CA to Golden and Nell (Piper) Allen. He graduated from Los Banos High School, class of 1955. Odis served in the US Marine Corp. from 1956 - 1962. He married Betty Newton in Merced, California December. 27, 1960. Odis was a member of The Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints and a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Manteca.

While living in Manteca, Odis owned and operated "Lincoln Center Barber Shop" for 17 years. He was later employed by the Department of Corrections for 15 years.

Odis' passions were hunting, fishing, flying and traveling. He especially enjoyed his family which expanded to great grandchildren. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings; Sherman Allen, Gladys Isborn, Ruby Estep and Herman Allen.

He is survived by Betty Allen of Dos Palos, his wife of 51 years. His daughter Susan Reeves and her husband Larry of Lyman, WY. His son Gregory Allen and his wife Pam of Dos Palos, CA. Eight grandchildren: Elliott (Bonnie) Reeves of Perry, Utah, Michal (Logan) Smith of Evanston, WY, Mallory (Derrick) Lawvor of Salt Lake City, UT, Taylor (Jordan) Reeves of Salt Lake City, UT, Seth Allen of Dos Palos, CA, Justin Metz of Atwater, CA, Trevor (Samantha) Murphy, Tacoma, WA and Tristen Murphy, Manteca, CA. Six great grandchildren; Sydnee, Ryan, Broedy, Kennedy, Sophia and Nathan. Siblings; Lloyd Allen of Dos Palos, CA, Charlene Bryant of Dos Palos, CA, Delores Judy of Riverbank, CA.

Remembrances in Odis' name may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, 10:00am at Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, 1826 Center St, Los Banos, CA 93635.

Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., Gustine, CA 95322 at 12:30pm.
