Olive ‘Tata’ Spirelle

Olive "Tata" Siprelle, 90, entered into rest on August 14, 2009 in Manteca, California.


She  was born on April 23, 1919 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Saffi and Maria Taddei in Ogden, Utah. She was a resident of Manteca for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her companion Bob Ketterbaugh, her brother Tony Taddei and nephew Darryl Smith.


Ms. Siprelle is survived by her dear sister Bettye Brodehl of Manteca; niece Leisa Russell and husband Dale of Stockton. She was blessed by 6 great-nieces and nephews Dale Russell II, Zachary Russell, Courtney Russell, Jordynn Russell, Brian Smith and wife Holly and Bradley Smith. She was also survived by one great-great-niece Camrynn Smith. Olive also leaves behind a very special care-giver and friend Betty Rotella of Manteca.


Olive was raised in Oakland, California. In her younger years she was crowned Ms. Oakland. Olive moved from San Francisco 30 years ago to Manteca to be closer to family. While living in San Francisco she worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a credit manager; retiring after 20 years of service. She enjoyed antiques, the opera, and the arts. She loved traveling with her friends and family. Olive took great pride in her home; she loved entertaining her friends and family while living in San Francisco. Olive will be remembered as a strong-willed sophisticated woman who was very caring and kind.


Services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church  19399 E. Highway 120, Ripon. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.
