otis Holmes 001

Otis Clifford Holmes, 89, entered into rest peacefully on December 2, 2015 in Manteca. He was born on October 7, 1926 in Op, Alabama to the late Carol and Lizzy Holmes. In heaven he joins his son Nathan Holmes.
Otis leaves behind his adored wife of 65 years, Sara A. Holmes of Manteca, his daughter Renae A. Wands of Auburn.  He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Angel Holmes, Christopher Goins, Jeremiah Silveira, Sara Holmes, Melissa Lowery, Nathan Holmes Jr., Marie Holmes, Laurie Holmes and many more who called him grandpa, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his brother William Holmes. Otis has two surviving siblings, Mary Hunt and Deloris Allen.
Otis was a United States Veteran serving his country proudly through the Army, Navy and Air Force. He worked as a car salesman over 25 years in the bay area, but was known in the Manteca for working at Arco gas station for over 20 years.
Otis was a friend to everyone he met. He was married for 65 years to Sara and they spent every moment together. He loved his wife immensely; a love they transmitted to their family. Otis was a special and loving father and the greatest grandfather. He had a strong upbringing, and led his life with integrity. He loved his family dearly and was ever so proud to watch the generations grow. He wanted his grandchildren to grow to be strong and honest like him. He will be missed greatly by his wife and family. We love you until me meet again.
