Otis Dickson, 80, entered into the arms of his Savoir on April 24, 2014, in Manteca, CA. He was born on March 3, 1934 to the late George and Georgie Dickson. He joins his beloved wife of 58 years, Bonnie Dickson, in heaven. She passed away in February. He is also preceded in death by his parents and siblings Buddy Dickson, Martha Severson, Ollie Goding, Lillian Dickson, and Ruth Nascimento.
Mr. Dickson leaves behind his four children, Alan Dickson and wife Sandi, Cheryl McCarthy and husband Ron, Arlene Reichmuth and husband Tom, and Brian Dickson. He was blessed by eight grandchildren, Misty, Cindy, Kayla, Taylor, Joseph, Melanie, Brian Jr. and Katie. Otis also has five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren who he loved dearly. In addition, he has one surviving sister Jewel Hamon.
Otis was a resident of Manteca for over 70 years. He retired from Manteca Unified School District as a grounds keeper where he spent most of his 30 year career at Manteca High School. He was a member of Tracy Wild Life which exemplified his love for fishing, camping and the outdoors. He was an extremely hard working and was a wonderful family provider. Otis was a reserved man but never turned down a challenging game of Bingo or Yahtzee. Ultimately, the center of his world was always his family. He cherished his wife and loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally. Otis will be remembered as a highly respected family man who was extremely devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
P. L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Dickson family. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at
10 a.m., held at Freedom Christian Fellowship Church, 700 N. Union Rd., Manteca. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at East Union Cemetery.
