Patty Smith, 54, entered into rest on November 1, 2011 in Manteca, California. She was born on January 25, 1957 in South Dakota. She joins her parents in heaven Jerome and Doris Haywood.

   Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Dennis Smith. Her sons are Guy Guibor, Danny Guibor and Corey Smith. She has three step-sons Michael Smith, Christopher Smith and Dennis Smith Jr. She was blessed by five grandchildren Jake Guibor, Jimi Guibor, Ryan Guibor, Andrea Guibor and Chloe Smith. In addition, Patty has five siblings; Cindy Pearsall, Gary Haywood, Anita Goolsby, James Tuggle, and Ed Tuggle.

   Patty worked for the government for over 25 years both at Sharps Army Depot and Tracy Defense Depot. Patty enjoyed watching her son race and traveling to local casinos. She was a wonderful cook and had a talent in embroidery and needle point. Patty’s favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved wrapping presents as she decked out each gift with her special decorative touch. Above all, Patty’s unconditional love never went unnoticed when it came to her grandchildren. grandchildren meant the world to her as she always looked forward to their special times together. Patty will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother an amazing sister and a very special grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Smith family. Visitation is being held on Monday November 7th, 2011 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm both held at P.L. Fry 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca. She will be laid to rest at a later date at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
