 Paul Porter, 75, entered into rest on March 19, 2013, in Manteca, Ca. He was born on February 4, 1938, in Horseheads, New York. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helga Porter.

Mr. Porter is survived by his children, Dana Porter and wife Caroline, Brian Porter and wife Emily, Pam Porter and Amber Porter. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Ben, Rachel, Nate, Amanda, Jeremy and one great-grandchild, Scarlet. In addition, Paul is survived by his siblings, Lloyd Porter Jr. and sister-in law Mary Lou, and Gene Porter and sister-in-law Patty.

Paul was a resident of the central valley for three years. Previously Paul and his wife made their home in Oregon for over 15 years. He retired from the military after 20 years of service as a chief warrant officer. After the military, Paul was a business owner operating Young Auto Parts out of Redwood City. When living in Oregon he worked for the state of Oregon as an outreach liaison for veterans. He enjoyed reading and bowling. He was a wonderful father and a devoted husband. His love for his grandchildren was unconditional as he treasured special times spent with each of them. Paul will be remembered as a simple man who had a deep love for his family.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Porter family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca.
