Memorial services will be held on Saturday October 6, for Raymond Nelson, 58, of Manteca, who died peacefully September 27, at Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 30, 1954, in Fairfield, CA, Ray moved to Michigan with his family in 1986. He later returned to Antioch and then to Manteca, California.

He worked for NUMMI until they closed. He enjoyed his life and loved to be with his daughter Amanda and his grandson Killian. He loved music, and loved everything about it. He would write songs for his friends and family. He could play many types of instruments including his favorites the harmonica and guitar. He would do anything for you if he could. He loved tending to his roses. His interest grew in his American Indian Heritage a few years ago and he purchased several of the American Indian flutes which he enjoyed playing. His sister got him interested in beading, and he made several medicine bags and bracelets for his friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Margaret Nelson of Niles, Michigan, He is survived by his daughter Amanda Nelson and his grandson Killian of Tracy, California, his brother Dale Nelson, his sister Marlene Shroyer, brother-in-law Larry Shroyer and nephews Mark and Shawn of Niles, Michigan, his brother Mike Nelson, sister-in-law Terry and nieces Crystal and Jill of Fairfield, California, and his great nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be held at a private home in Tracy, CA.
