Raymond Cornelius Rickard passed away on November 13, 2022 in Manteca, California at the age of 91. He was born on January 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. Before moving to California, he loved going to White Sox games at Comiskey Park. He leaves behind his wife 65 years, Elaine and his two children Steven (Kim) Rickard of Anaheim, California and Susan Glendenning of La Habra, California. Raymond and Elaine were blessed with five grandchildren: London, Megan, Reid, Nicole and Sean. He is survived by one brother, Donald Rickard and is preceded in death by his brother Franklin.

   Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He worked in engineering and as a draftsman before becoming an installation manager at Sears Roebuck Company. Raymond and Elaine loved to travel and see the world, his favorite places being New Zealand and Australia. He also loved to snow ski, golf and keep up his garden.

   In his younger years, Raymond was an actor in a traveling theater group. He also loved to send postcards to his family and friends. Raymond was a sports fan who’s favorite teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams.

   Raymond was a devout Catholic and loved to go Church. He was known as a class act and will be deeply missed.

   P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rickard family. A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. He will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:30 p.m., 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA.
