Raymond Ernie Dellavecchia was born to Swiss immigrants Guido and Mary Dellavecchia, on August 27th, 1933 and raised in Manteca, California. 
   He excelled in sports and graduated from Manteca High School (1951) and Modesto JC, and went on to attend San Francisco State.  He was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Aschaffenburg, Germany where he met and married Ruth Mangus of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  The family moved to Los Gatos in 1962. Ray and Ruth have three sons:  Guy, David and Mark.   They owned the Jiffy Market in Los Gatos from 1971 to 1997. Ray was a fan of all sports and coached LG recreation department boys softball for over 15 years.  Starting in 1982, Ray and Ruth began travelling the World – setting foot in all 50 states and on all seven continents! Ray was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years and twice served as Congregational President.  Ray died on June 20th, 2016 in Davidsville, Pennsylvania.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor.
   Ray is preceded in death by his parents and older sisters, Edith Nunes of Ripon and Lena Tuers of Salida. 
   He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. (Mangus) Dellavecchia of Davidsville, Pennsylvania; sons and daughter-in-law Guy Dellavecchia and Chiharu Dellavecchia of San Jose, David Dellavecchia of Los Gatos, and Mark Dellavecchia of Campbell.
  A celebration of life is to be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 16548 Ferris Avenue, in Los Gatos with a luncheon to follow.
