   Richard J.R. Belgarde 70, died at the VA Hospital in Livermore, CA. Memorial Services were held Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Graham Hitch Mortuary. He was laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
   Richard was born in Belcourt, North Dakota, the son of Frank and Mary Louise St. Arnaude. They moved to Minot, ND when he was six years old. He was educated in Minot and St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlin, SD.  He was in the Navy from January 23, 1962 to February 16, 1965.
   Richard married Linda Groven in 1967 and they moved to San Jose, CA where he enrolled in welding school. He was self-employed for 46 years and had three patents on Frame Machines. He was a very hard worker. His interests included family, friends, pool, playing the guitar, fishing, camping, bowling, playing cards and bingo.
   Richard is survived by his wife Linda, son, Rick Belgarde of San Francisco CA, daughter Tammy Belgarde Christensen, son-in-law David Christensen, grandchildren Dillon Christensen and Ally Christensen all of Livermore CA, and sisters, Stella Ness and her husband Jerry of Watertown, ND, Genevieve Loethen of Stewartville, MN, Phyllis Allen of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
   Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cecellia Belgarde, brothers, Peter Francis Belgarde and David Lee Belgarde and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
