Robert Arthur McElvain of Manteca passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long bout with cancer on Saturday, April 14, 2018, just prior to his 85th birthday.  He was born on May 1, 1933 to Jackson and Clara in San Francisco, CA.  He then married June Grossetti on September 6, 1953 and was a devoted husband and father.
   He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Gladys (Fred), Jeannie (Willie) and Margaret. He leaves behind his wife, six children Carol (Pat), Linda (Bob), Robert, Lori, James and David (Alisha), 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and nieces
and nephews.    
   Robert was drafted into the Army in 1953 and served in the Korean War. He then put himself through college while raising a family, graduating with a B.S. in Accounting. He worked for many years as an accountant with a side tax business and then branched out and started his own company, JEBBCO. He was an avid stamp collector and a devoted fan of the S.F. Giants and 49ers.
   The family will be celebrating Robert’s life on Saturday, April 21, at the Park View Cemetery & Funeral Home, located at 3661 E. French Camp Road, in Manteca. The viewing will start at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral following at 2:30 p.m. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
