Robert (Bob) McBrian passed away peacefully on December 17th at Doctor’s Hospital in Modesto. He had struggled for many years with heart problems, but is now at peace.
   Bob was born in 1945 in Modesto, at what was then an Army Hospital and is now a part of MJC West Campus, to Betty and Leo McBrian, of Ripon. Bob Grew up in Ripon, and graduated from Ripon Elementary in 1959 and Ripon High School in 1963. He attended MJC after high school and graduated in 1966. He then served in the Air Force as an electronics technician, including a posting in Alaska. After his discharge, he started working for Monroe Business Machines in what was then a fledgling computer industry and continued with them until his retirement.
   Bob is survived by his mother Betty, his sisters Sharon (Ed) Newburg and Katy Peters, his nephew Ken (Debbie) Newburg, his great nephews Kevin (Randi) Newburg and Brian Newburg, and many cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved Dachund, Susie.
   For many years after his retirement, Bob was the primary caregiver for his mother Betty. He spent much of his time helping organize the Veteran’s Museum in Ripon, maintaining the Veteran’s Wall, serving as a docent and Assistant Curator. He also served as a docent at the Ripon Historical Museum.
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at Santa Nella. The family asks that any remembrances be made to The Ripon Historical Society for either of the museums, to the Ripon Ambulance, or to Bethany Home.
