Robert E. Poynter Sr., 68, entered into rest on Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Manteca. He was born on Sept. 24, 1940 in Salam, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his mother Alma Poynter and son Gregory Guy Poynter.
Mr. Poynter is survived by his beloved partner of many years, Nadine Neswick of Manteca. His children are Robie Poynter and his wife Kim of Oakley and Stacy Poynter of San Diago. He was blessed by 3 grandchildren; Cameron Poynter, Erich Poynter and Marisa Poynter. He has one surviving sister, Judy Hackett of Washington.
Robert retired 13 years ago as a detective for the San Mateo County Sherrif’s office, serving the community for over 26 years. Robert moved from Fremont to Manteca after living there for 25 years. He has been a Manteca resident for 10 years, enjoying his community. He was a member of the VFW of Manteca, the Moose Lodge of Manteca and the Blue Knights – Oakland Division (Motorcycle Club). He was an avid traveler and enjoyed the outdoors, riding his motorcycle and camping. He was a very dedicated family man with a great sense of humor.
