Robert G. Hills, Sr. passed away Saturday, January 9, in Manteca at the age of 88 years. He was born July 20, 1921 to Randall and Jessie (Sovern) Hills in Burlington, Iowa. Robert was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He was a carpenter by trade, enjoying creating items for others  that were for practical use. Robert was an honest hard working man who  cared about his family and his country. In his later years he enjoyed  touring the U.S. and playing cribbage with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Hills of Manteca, James S. Hills, Sr. of Volcano, Robert Hills, Jr. of Pioneer; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Hills on February 18, 2008.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Garden of Valor at Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson. Condolences may be offered to the family at condolences@danerimortuary.com.
