Robert Glen Norman (Bob), 91,passed away peacefully in Stockton, CA, December 18, 2015.  Born in Delta, Colorado, July 30, 1924 to A. A. and Thyra Norman.
   He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Roberts Norman, two sons Rob (wife Edele) and Tom (wife Darla) and grandchildren, William (wife Emily), Neil, Kent, Rachelle, Rebecca and Austin, niece Cheryl Stiles, nephews Rob and John Miller and cousin Peggy Lucas.
   He was preceded in death by his parents A.A and Thyra Norman, sister Marjorie, and son William.  He is also survived by DeDe and Michael Delucchi and their children Annelyse, Khrista, Adriana and Khyle, whom he liked to consider as daughter, son and grandchildren. 
  Bob’s family moved to Tracy, California in the late 1920’s, where his father worked for Holly Sugar.  In the 1930’s they moved to Manteca, where his father became Superintendent at Spreckles Sugar.  Bob graduated from Manteca grammar school and Manteca High School.  He attended University of the Pacific prior to his enlistment in the Naval Air Corps, where he served honorably during World War II as a naval officer and was trained as a torpedo bomber pilot.  Following World War II, he attended the University of California, Davis, and graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Cum Laude.
   Bob was self-employed as a farmer from 1952 until his retirement.  He was an avid outdoorsman, fly fisherman and cribbage player, and enjoyed the company of his many farm friends at the Collegeville Store.  He also enjoyed his membership with the Manteca Historical Society.
   P.L Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Norman family. Services will be held Wednesday, January 13th, 10:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Memorial Chapel, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin County or a charity of your choice.
