Robert Joseph Copeland “Bob”, 68, passed away on Sunday April 11, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital in Manteca.  He was born on Monday, September 1, 1941 in French Camp.  In heaven he joins his parents Robert Wallace Copeland, his mother Lela Zora Copeland, brother Michael Curtis Copeland and sister Lela Mae Copeland.

Robert lived in Manteca all his life, 68 years.  He attended Manteca schools and graduated from Manteca High School, Class of 1960.  While in school he was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA).  He entered livestock in the San Joaquin County Fair and won awards.  Robert worked approximately 40 years in the trucking industry hauling hay, watermelons, pumpkins and wood.  He later became self-employed hauling livestock.  The last approximately 4 years he has been a patient in a convalescent hospital.

Robert is survived by his siblings Wallace D. Copeland, Josephine Goodin, Roberta Stevens and husband Bob, Barbara Copeland, all of Manteca; Hazel Parsons and husband, Ron of Oregon, Linda Duggan and husband Terry of Ripon, Karen Herrington and husband Bob of South Lake Tahoe, California.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 715 East North Street, Manteca, California.  Arrangements are under the direction of PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.  An online guestbook is available at  www.plfryandson.com for condolences.
