Rosemary Elaine Silveira, age 83, of Manteca, CA passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 in Douglas, GA following a brief illness. Mrs. Silveira was born on September 25, 1927 to the late Manuel and Mary Silveira in Hughson, CA. She was preceded in death by a son: James Silveira; sister: Hazel LaCross and granddaughter: Brenna Silveira. Survivors include: husband, of 63 years Herman L. Silveira, son, Dwayne (Connie) Silveira all of Manteca; son, Jeffrey (Hope) Silveira and daughter: Christine Silveira-Mitchell all of Douglas, GA; as well as, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Rosemary retired in 1988 from Tracy Defense Depot after 19 years of service as a Typist. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Rosemary and her husband were best friends; they were known to hold hands wherever they went. They enjoyed each other’s company as they both always had smiles on their faces. They loved traveling as they traveled numerous times per year to visit with family on the east coast. Her favorite quote when traveling was “No matter where you roam, there’s no place like home.” She loved spending time with her children grandchildren; supporting and loving them unconditionally. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and playing a great card game of Portuguese Pedro. Rosemary will be remembered as a feisty fun loving woman who had a zest for life. Visitation will be held Thurs. August 4, 1 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. Mass will be Friday, August 5, 11am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Final resting place will be St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Escalon.
