Rubye Lois Smalley, age 87, entered into rest on January 26, 2013, in Manteca. She was born on January 6, 1926 in Dierks, Arkansas to the Late William Crawford and Molly M. (McAnelly) Gaddis. She is preceded in death by her brother, Harrold David Gaddis. She was a resident of Manteca for 59 years.

Rubye is survived by her husband, A.C. Smalley of Manteca, her daughter, Neva Ann Ramos, her son, Galen C. Smalley and his wife, Mary D., her sister, Marie Louise Little and her husband, Dale of Dequeen, AR. She was blessed with four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rubye’s career varied including working over 17 years as a Department Manager for Brown/Mahan Clothing Store as well as Cliff Parr’s Drug Store. She enjoyed crocheting items for her home and family. Rubye enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren. Rubye always looked forward to family get togethers especially during the holidays when she prepared the food for all her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services for Mrs. Smalley have been entrusted to PL Fry & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013, 1 pm to 5 pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 12noon at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home. Final resting place will be Park View Cemetery, 3661 E.
