Rudy Torcuato passed from this world on August 2, 2024. He was born in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, the first son of Tranquilino and Tecla (Aguilar) Torcuato. One of 12 children, he grew up on Molokai.
He enjoyed swimming, fishing, horseback riding, and pineapple, graduating from Molokai High School in 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Robertson; son Arden; daughter Cherie, grandchildren; Keola, Kaimana, Kalahiki, Jennethy, TJ, Kai, and Sunshine; step-father to Angela Yoshida, Carol Perez, and Katherine Thomas, and great- grandfather to nine.
Rudy worked most of his life as a flooring contractor. He taught his craft to many young men. He was a little guy something like Popeye, who could carry more than his load. Rudy was kind, generous, and dependable. Diane’s father, the late T.L. McDonald described Rudy as a “jewel.” Burial will be Friday, September 6, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery at
11a.m. in Dixon. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 7 at
11a.m. United Lutheran Church, Manteca.
