Ruth I. Nascimento, 67, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 in Stockton.
She was born September 9, 1941 in Sawyer, Oklahoma to the late George and Georgie Dickson. She has resided in Manteca for over 56 years. She worked at McFall School as an instructional assistant for 16 years.
Ruth is survived by his loving husband of nearly 49 years, Ron G. Nascimento; daughter, Tami DeCosta and husband Rick; granddaughter, LeeAnne DeCosta; siblings Jewel Hammon and husband Vernon, Otis Dickson and wife Bonnie, all Manteca; sister-in-laws Claudia Camara and Edwarene Nascimento; brother-in-law Steve Severson; God Son Bill Gulart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. She was an amazing woman; family was everything to her. She cherished all their trips whether it was camping or off to the races, she was always ready for the adventure. Ruth was a member of the “Red Hat Ladies”, belonging to two different clubs, and acting as the Queen Mom of one. She enjoyed browsing for those “special finds” at garage sales and thrift stores. Ruth was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She truly had a heart of gold, and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
 She is preceded in death by her children, Timothy Lewis Nascimento and Leilani Nascimento; sisters, Martha Severson, Lillian Dickson, and Ollie Goding; brother-in-laws Al Goding, Carl Camara, and Richard Nascimento. A vigil and prayer service will be held Thursday, February 26, 10:30 a.m. at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Final resting will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery,17871 South Carrolton Road, Escalon. In lieu of flowers, remembrance can be made in Ruth’s name to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
