Ruth R. Becker entered into rest on February 8, 2013 at her home in Manteca surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Los Angeles, California in 1923 to the late John and Carrie Mundhenk. Ruth came to live in Manteca 28 years ago after she traveled the world with the 1984 Olympic Silver-Medalist Volleyball team, as their team manager.

She served her country as a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps from 1941-1943, during World War II.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Becker. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, where together with Paul, loved spending time with the friends they made through the church organizations.

She is also survived by her six children, Paula De Groot and Bill, Mark Becker and Trish, Patricia Hartt and Martin, Kathie Browning and James, Carolyn Morel and Rudy, David Becker and Lori, also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 12

great grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held for family on February 16, 2013. Final resting place will be the Veteran’s National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth would have appreciated a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Caregivers Respite, Stockton Dioceses.
