Shelby Ray Cloud was born Aug. 14, 1940 in Arkansas. He passed away on Dec. 29 at 3:43 p.m. at home with his family in Manteca at age 68.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Anne Cloud; daughters Connie, Debbie and her husband William, Brandi and her husband Clint, Danielle, Crystal and Jessica; and his son Mike and his wife Jennifer. He has numerous grandchildren: Stevie, Ryan, Dillion, Jason, Rosie, Mariah, Joshua, Gage, David, Nikko, Sean, Nate, Jade, Trevor, Halee, Alyssa, and Emily.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his brothers David Phillip, David Richard and Chriss Hughes, as well as his father-in-law James and his mother in laws Tanya and Jackie plus a great family friend and caregiver George.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bessie; his fathers John and David; his brothers James and Edgar; his sister Silvia; and granddaughter Arianna.
He worked in the chrome business for approximately 35 years as a bumper straightner at Stockton Plating and later retired to live a happy life that included fishing, gambling, camping, boating, and spending time with his family.
He was such a wonderful man, and an even greater person in general.  He had so many unique qualities. People were drawn to him like bugs were drawn to a light. He was a positive man and very outgoing. He always had high spirits. He was funny, good natured, loving and gentle and boy he loved to reminisce. He loved everyone and never passed judgment. His heart had no limits.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Park View Memorial Chapel, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.  Internment will follow at Park View Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.
