Sherilyn J Weatherford bw

Sherilyn J. Weatherford went home to her heavenly father on October 22, 2015 in Manteca, CA. She was born on March 13, 1942 in El Dorado, Kansas to the late Lawrence and Ellen Alwin.  Sherilyn was very proud of her Kansas heritage, but it didn’t take her long to settle into Manteca. She moved to Manteca in1966, and became very passionate about getting involved and serving the community.  Being most proud of her time spent working with Soroptimist, Safety Council, Eastern Star, United Way, Girl Scouts, PTA and Women of United Lutheran.
Sherilyn was most famous for her unconditional love for her family. She married the love of her life, Willie, in 1963 and they were married for 52 years. They were each other’s biggest support where they made a great team.
She is survived by her two daughters Dawnis (Felix) Villegas and Dayna (Casey) Tinnin.  Sherilyn did a wonderful job raising her daughters teaching them how to be loving mothers and kind individuals. She was always passionate about spending time with them and instilling good values. Sherilyn was her grandchildren’s biggest fan; she supported them in all of their adventures and endeavors. She was truly blessed by Joshua, Jesika, Casey-Brian, Kayla and Raymond and her one great-grandson Wesley. She loved all of them dearly. In addition, Sherilyn was a wonderful sister to her two brothers Larry Lawerance Alwin (Paula) and Duane Alwin (Linda).
Sherilyn had many interests and talents. She was also known for her delicious bake goodies. As a young lady, she earned a blue ribbon for a homemade angel food cake at the Kansas State Fair. She was also a wonderful seamstress; especially loved sewing for her family. Some of her specialties were bridesmaid dresses, matching dresses for her daughters and granddaughters, and Halloween costumes for her grandsons. Sherilyn loved her time playing bells with the United Lutheran Church Bell Choir. Traveling with her loving husband Willie was another one of her passions; she especially liked traveling with him to his many softball tournaments where she always managed to slip in an unexpected shopping trip. She was an avid angel collector; where we know she is an angel with God now.
