Former Tracy resident Stanley Arthur Terry Sr., 86, of Manteca, a retired Owens-Illinois corrugator operator and recipient of two Purple Hearts for his U.S. Army service in World War II, died Monday, June 14, at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Livermore.

Mr. Terry is survived by his children, Sandra Terry Whitlock, and her husband, Gene, of Manteca, Barbara Terry Plemmons, and her husband, Wayne, of Humptulips, Wash., and Stanley Terry Jr., and his wife, Marla, of Tracy; siblings, Nelly Lorraine Lyles of Laguna Niguel, Mary Emily Davidson of Dayton, Texas, Robert Earle Terry of Oakland, Franklin Albert Terry of Petaluma, Barbara Esther Swores of Shasta City and James Henry Terry of Castro Valley; eight grandchildren, Karen Root, Gene Whitlock II, Terry Whitlock, all of Manteca, Ed Taylor, Mark Taylor both of Humptulips, WA, Heather Alderson of Cheney, WA, Briana Terry of Gilroy, and Philip Terry of Tracy; two stepgrandchildren, Christopher Garcia of San Diego and Sarah Garcia of Sacramento; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Tavare) Terry; second wife, Shirley (Lear) Terry; and three brothers, Walter John Terry, Edward Freeman Terry Jr. and Roger Erwin Terry.

A graveside service with military honors will begin at 12:30 p.m., June 25, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road, in Gustine. P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca is handling arrangements, and an online guestbook is available at www.plfryandson.com.
