Harris Stephen bw

Stephen V. Harris, entered into rest on June 6, 2014, in Ripon, CA. He was born on June 27, 1958, in Guam to the late Charles and Patricia Harris. He is survived by his loving children, Christopher and Jaclyn Harris. He was blessed with one granddaughter, Aubrie LeeAnn Harris. He has one sister, Patsi Brown Harris, and one nephew, Darwin Glidewell Freeman III.
Steve was a resident of both Ripon and Manteca for over 33 years. He proudly served his country through the United Sates Navy, where he was honorably discharged after four years. He began his career shortly after his time in the military at the San Joaquin County Sherriff’s Department. Steve spent nine months with the county and then started his life-long career with the Manteca Police Department. While at MPD he worked in various assignments; Detectives, SWAT, Narcotics and the County Drug Task Force. After retirement Steve remained with the MPD as a reserve police officer and worked as a Feeder School Safety Officer. He loved his community and was truly privileged in serving and protecting. He loved people in general as he was known to entertain family and friends with his witty, prankster funny personality; all while cooking up an amazing BBQ dinner. Steve was a selfless man who above all loved his children and granddaughter unconditionally. He will be deeply missed.
