Steven Mendoza, 77, entered into rest on November 5, 2010 in Manteca. He was born on August 3, 1933 in Stockton to his parents, the late Guillermo (William) and Soledad Mendoza. In heaven he joins infant brother Paulino.

 He leaves behind his loving children; Steven B. Mendoza and wife, Shari, of Manteca, Jon W. Mendoza of Stockton/Reno and Pamela A. Mendoza of Stockton. He was blessed to have 6 grandchildren; Matthew, Andrea, Jessica, Gabriel, Michael and Phillip. He has 2 great-grand babies –Elise and Aurora. In addition he was a brother to Marian Khan of Stockton, William Mendoza of Brentwood and Andrea Novetzke of Stockton.

Steven was a resident of Stockton for over 60 years. In his younger years he coached Little League baseball for his children’s teams and enjoyed camping and fishing, which was always an adventure. One of his favorite places was Caswell Park. Steven was a true child at heart; he often would watch cartoons with his children and would never miss a great episode of The Pink Panther. He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren; they were the apple of his eye. His children describe him as always being the greatest. He will be remembered for his witty personality, his great sense of humor and having a big heart.

 Mr. Mendoza’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A Rosary/ Vigil will be Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 beginning at 9 a.m. He will be laid to rest at San Joaquin National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road, Santa Nella with full military honors.
