Timothy (Tim) Robert Cargile was born on April 17, 1949, in Stockton, California, to Quincey and Gerry (Dowhower) Cargile. He was called home and entered into rest on July 25, 2022 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
He lived in Manteca all his life. He attended Calla Grammar School and graduated from Manteca High School in 1967. He began his career working at Standard Oil Company which later became Skip's Chevron at Main Street and Yosemite Avenue. In the early 1970's he joined his father in the backhoe business, as well as helped him with the management of the various family businesses. During that time, he also drove a milk truck for Ralph Frietas and started 5-Star Muffler. He enjoyed metal fabrication, traveling to Pismo Beach, riding the quads at the Sand Dunes, and hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed music and was self taught playing various instruments. He was a long-time member of Calvary Community Church and served as an usher. He was a devout believer in Christ and was always ready, willing and able to help those in need.
Tim was a man with a heart of gold. There was always a smile on his face and a quick sense of humor. He brought pleasure to all, whether family, friends or strangers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lee, and his cousins Sis Sadler Petersen and Butch Dowhower. He leaves behind his cousins Curt (Wendy) Dowhower, Linda Dowhower Voorheis, and Skip (Shirley) Sadler. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Special thanks to all family and friends who visited, all caregivers and Community Hospice, but especially Kathy Gore for her devoted service.
P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Cargile family. Graveside services will be held on August 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Parkview Cemetery, 3661 East French Camp Road, French Camp, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Community Church or Community Hospice.
