Tina Vandenakker

Tina Vandenakker of Ripon went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Manteca at the age of 72.  Tina was born on August 5, 1949 in Britsmum, Friesland to parents, Harry and Patricia Postma.   
   In 1953 they immigrated to Stony Mountain, Canada and in 1965 they immigrated to Bellflower, CA.  This is where she met the love of her life Richard Vandenakker and they married on July 12, 1968.  They celebrated 51 years of marriage and had four children and 16 grandchildren.  They moved to Modesto in 1978 and settled in Ripon for the remainder of their life in 1986.
   Surviving her are her four children and 16 grandchildren, son, Richard Jr and kids, Sarah (Lucas Vermulen), Ashley and Christopher Vandenakker, son Dave Vandenakker and kids, David, Jayson,  and Elena Vandenakker, daughter, Lori Gonzales and kids, Miko Peral- Vandenakker, Trinity, Izabella and Rocky Gonzales, daughter Becky Pasillas (Anthony) and kids, Gabriel and Jacob Pasillas, Jessica, Cecilia, Olivia and Vanessa Orozco, daughter-in-laws, Kim Vandenakker and Julie Vandenakker and son-in-law, Michael Gonzales.
   Tina is also survived by her mother Patricia Postma of Ripon and mother-in-law Anne Vandenakker of Ontario, Canada.  Sisters, Effie Visser  (Tony) of Ripon, Marti Niemand (Jeff) of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Juli Van Vliet of Harker Heights, TX.  Also, survived by sister-in-law Lydia VanderElst (John), brother-in-law Jim Vandenakker (Elizabeth), sister-in-law Jane Vandenakker and several nieces and nephews.
   Tina was a faithful member of Almond Valley CRC and was one who went to every service and social event.  She truly enjoyed the church community and being with her family and friends at all times.   Tina was very involved with her children and grandchildren going to every school and church event.  Her grandchildren were the center of her world and would go anywhere or do anything for them.  She enjoyed being with them at all times.  She loved to travel and camp with her family and grandchildren.
   Tina was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Richard Vandenakker.  Her father Harry Postma, father-in-law Henry Vandenakker, her little brother Martin Postma and brother-in-law Al Vandenakker
   Deegan Ripon Memorial is honored to serve the Vandenakker family.  A visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.                      Graveside services will be held at Ripon Cemetery on Saturday, October 23, 10 a.m. and a memorial service is scheduled for at 11:00 a.m. at Almond Valley Christian Reformed Church, in Ripon.  Donations in Tina’s memory may be made to Ripon Christian Schools.
