Tom Zimmerman Sr., 96, entered into rest on April 11, 2012 Manteca, California. He was born in Oklahoma in 1915 on October 17 to the late Fred and Helen Zimmerman. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife Millie Zimmerman.

Tom is survived by his four children; Tom Zimmerman Jr. (Sandy), Allen Zimmerman (Marji), Sharon Herrera (Al) and Don Zimmerman. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren; Adam, Shelby, Morgan, Natasha, Nicole, Tony, Sheila, Ryan, Corey, Tyson, Ashley and Kaycie. In addition Tom had numerous great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Tom retired after 24 years of services from PG&E as an Electrical Troubleshooter. He proudly served his country through the United States Army serving in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion. Tom was extremely involved with his children as they grew up. He was one of the original founders of the Manteca High Boosters. He was a huge local sports fan; traveling all over supporting girls local fast pitch baseball, Manteca High football and basketball. Family was always number one in Tom’s life. He never missed an opportunity to love and support immediate family as well as extended family. Tom’s second family for the past two years was Prestige Senior Living; he loved and cared for the whole staff and was always appreciative of the wonderful cooks who served him dessert three times a day. Tom’s giving spirit, his contagious laugh and his wonderful funny sense of humor never went unnoticed. He will be missed.

P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Zimmerman Family. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Road. Manteca. He will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin 3888 Pacific Ave. Stockton Ca 95204.
