Tony Camara, age 82, entered into rest on January 14, 2014 in Stockton. He was born on November 29, 1931 in French Camp. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Camara. Tony was a resident of Manteca for 82 years.
Tony is survived by his children, Gary (Kelly) Camara, of Ripon, David (Charlotte) Camara of Manteca, and Karen (Joe) Head of Ripon. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly) Camara, Paul Camara, Heather Camara (Dustin) and Kyle Head; and two great grandchildren, Emily Camara and Paige Camara. Tony also leaves behind his siblings, Manuel (Geri) Camara, Mary Erickson, Barbara Jean Martin, John (Vicki) Camara and Janet Rich.
Tony was a veteran of the US Army. He retired after 38 years of service from Fibreboard Paper Company in Stockton. Tony was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Ripon Grange, Stockton Sportsmans Club and M.R.P.S. in Manteca. He also loved to pheasant hunt and harvest pistachios, grapes, walnuts and olives. Tony loved to watch his grandkids play sports.
PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca is honored to be serving the Camara family. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 4pm to 7pm with a Rosary beginning at 7pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca. Final resting place is St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Escalon.
