Tony Fernandes Jr

Tony J. Fernandes, Jr., loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, May 13, 2018. He attended Immanuel Christian Reformed Church where he served as both elder and deacon. He also was a counselor for the boys Cadet Club for over 40 years. 

   He loved going to the men’s bible study and then enjoying breakfast with them afterwards. He served as board member of Bethany Home for 12 years. 

   He was in the Army Reserve from 1961- 1967. Now as a veteran, he joined Legion Post 190 and was serving as their Chaplain. He was also a docent at the veteran’s museums. A service he loved doing was making coffee for all the different groups he attended. He favorite pastime was camping and cruising to Alaska.  He worked as a propane delivery truck driver  for almost 50 years and he absolutely loved his customers. 

   He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Beatrice Fernandes, two brothers and one sister, Mickey Fernandes (Katherine) of Modesto, David Fernandes (Pam) of Chicago, and Rosemary Carpenter (Fred) of Modesto.   He is preceded in death by his brother Paul Fernandes. He will also be missed by his children Daniel Fernandes, and Barbara Fernandes (Tommy Guy) along with grandchildren Megan Alvarado, Tanner McBride, Pazley Langley and Brandon Fernandes and four great- grandchildren. 

   Tony was a man with a big, kind, loving heart and will be deeply missed by everyone. 

   Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, from 4-7 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, 111 South Palm Avenue, in Ripon. 

   A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 25, at 11a.m.  at Ripon Cemetery, 320 North Stockton Avenue in Ripon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, at Immanuel CRC at the corner of 4th and Orange Avenue at 11 a.m.
