Vernon L. McBride, 72, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

  He was born July 23, 1946 in Fresno, California to Floyd and Ilda McBride.

  He lived most of his life in Manteca and graduated from Manteca High School in 1964.

  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Stella Turner and Glenda Potter, his daughter Stacy Chasteen and his grandson Matthew McBride.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary McBride, his sisters Barbara Johnson and Leona Manous and his brother-in-law Jeff Turner, his daughters Tamara and her husband Scott Maestretti, son Jason and his wife Ginger McBride, four grandchildren Stephanie, Kristen, and Joshua Meastretti and Nathan McBride, and many nieces and nephews.

  He was employed by AC Trucking for 49 years where he worked with his close friends Al and Carol Nunes.

  He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a fan of the San Francisco Giants, Miami Dolphins and all things NASCAR. The highlight of his life was watching his grandchildren in their sporting events.

  At his request the service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin.

  He was deeply loved and will be missed.
