Virginia Farinah Nunes, resident of Manteca, entered into rest on Monday, January 25, at the age of 85. She was the loving mother to Rick Nunes and fiancé Marisa Arciniaga, Robert and Christina Nunes, both of Fremont, the beloved grandmother to Lindsey and Trevor; and the dear sister to Phoebe Brown of Ripon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Born May 25, 1924 in Lowell, MA, Virginia had the honor of dancing with Senator John F. Kennedy before moving to California in 1954. She and her husband, Manuel, married over 50 years, were long time residents of Fremont and Manteca. She was an avid sports fan who loved golf, football, baseball and fishing. Virginia was a member of the Hole in One Club at the Parkway Women’s Golf Club in Fremont. She enjoyed traveling in her motor home with her husband Manuel who passed away in 2001. She had fond memories of their time as members of the Hook’em Up club.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29,at 10 a.m. with a chapel service at 11 a.m. at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Burial will be held on Monday, February 1, at 1 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.
