Vivien Lorraine Goff
April 6, 1933-December 6, 2017
GOFF

Vivien Lorraine Goff, 84, entered into rest on December 6, 2017 in Ripon, CA. She was born on April 6, 1933 in Fortuna, CA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Merle and Louise Goff.
She is preceded in death by her twin sister Jackie Wright.
Ms. Goff is survived by her long-time friend Bernice Finley and her sister Janice “Toni” Mauney.
Ms. Goff grew up in Ferndale and was a resident of Ripon for 51 years. Ms. Goff taught at Manteca High School from 1957-1989. She was well known to her students as the dedicated, fiery P.E. teacher who could sneak up on you in the locker room because the lockers were taller than she was. While at Manteca High School she made her mark in women’s sports, being there at the inception of girls being allowed to compete in the VOL.  As a coach of softball and basketball she continually set the stage for the Lady Buffs road to excellence. Throughout the years Lorraine remained in contact with many of her students for more than 40 years.  She was one of the many who would admit “I bleed Green.” After retirement Lorraine and Bernice opened up B & B Candy Shop in Ripon where they made locals candy for over five years. Lorraine loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting and gardening were some of her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs Sissy and Ace and was a huge Giants and Warriors fan. Lorraine will be remembered as a fun, feisty lady who lived life to its fullest.
P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Goff family. A celebration of life will be on Wednesday, December 20,  at 11:00 a.m. held at Chez Shari’s, 305 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. She will be laid to rest at a later date with her twin sister at Ferndale Cemetery. An online guest book is available for condolences to the family at www.plfryandson.com.
