Willa L. Habiger, 78, entered into rest peacefully at her home in Lathrop on May 28, 2015. She was born December 29, 1936 in Haverhill Massachusetts.
She is preceded in death by her son Joseph Robert Habiger.  She is survived by her husband of over 60 years Joseph, daughter Teri Lynn Rich, and son Steven (Beckey) Habiger. Willa was blessed with four granddaughters, one grandson, and two great- grand babies.
Willa grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts before moving to California where she graduated from Berkeley High School. Shortly after graduation, while out with some friends, she met the love her life Joseph; he was sitting in the back seat of a car, and she was giving him her famous “Wink” in the rear view mirror. She wrote her number on his hand, he called, and in just three short weeks they married and spent the next 60 years together. They raised their family in San Leandro before settling down in Lathrop. Willa had many hobbies including sewing, baking, and decorating cakes. She volunteered her time with several charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society and the Nearly New shop in Manteca.  For over 40 years she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Among all of Willa’s attributes, her family came first. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who’s love was always unconditional. She will be truly missed.
