Willard Smith, 70, entered into rest on November 4, 2010 in Stockton, California. He was born on July 22, 1940 in La Junta, CA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie (Ruby) Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Smith of Manteca. His children are Cheryl M. Smith of Manteca, Curtis E. Smith of Berry Creek, Millard Smith of El Paso, TX, Ruby Smith of El Paso, TX, and Yvonne Valenzuela of El Paso, TX. He was blessed by 6 grandchildren: Mitchell, Nelson, Logan, Derrick and Kimberly. Willard was a resident of Manteca for over 18 years. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. He retired from Sharpe Army Depot after 27 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 249. He enjoyed taking trips to local casinos and listening to country music as well as rock-n-roll. He was an avid basketball fan, always cheering for his Sacramento Kings. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Willard enjoyed many sports, but most of all he enjoyed watching and cheering on his grandsons, always supporting them in all their athletics. Willard was a simple man; he was most content when sitting on the porch with his daughter Cheryl reminiscing and enjoying each other’s company. Willard will be remembered as a reserved man with a heart of gold. He will be missed.
