Willard Pavey
Willard Thomas Pavey passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018, in Manteca, CA, at the age of 95.  He was born on September 14, 1922 in Idaho to Nathan and Goldie Pavey.  
   Mr. Pavey leaves behind his beautiful wife of 75 years, Anna Mae Pavey.  He also leaves his children Willard R. Pavey of Livingston, CA, Nelda A. Pavey of Manteca, CA, and Naioma P. Crawford of Merced, CA.  Willard was blessed by seven grandchildren, Bryan Pavey, Jeffrey Pavey, David Slayter, Sheila Fay Rogers, Mickey Leon Slayter, Shellie Sue Henry and Kris Lynn Gee as well as 17 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
   Mr. Pavey was a Navy veteran where he served from 1942 to 1945.  He retired from his position as a maintenance worker for the City of Manteca after 20 years.  Willard loved hunting and fishing as well as gardening.  He was known for growing very large squash which he loved to share with his friends at church.  His generosity was abundant as he would spend time gathering sweet potatoes from the fields after harvest, and then after cleaning them, he would give them to the elderly at church.  A hobby of his was making homemade raisins which were loved by all.
   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to be serving the Pavey Family.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at the Journey Church, A Church of the Nazarene, 444 Argonaut St., Manteca, with burial to follow at  the Arbor Vitae Cemetery, 1301 Roberts Ave., Madera.  For condolences to the family, please visit www.plfyandson.com.
