May 10, 1972-February 20, 2013

William “Bill” Tacosa, 40, of Manteca, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Lacking of a sufficient immune system due to his Genetic Neutropenia, he valiantly battled multiple infections at Doctors Hospital of Manteca for five days, succumbing to his illnesses at 3:02 a.m.

He was born to Jerry and Aggie Tacosa, May 10, 1972, in Manteca, CA. Bill graduated from Manteca High School in 1990 and spent his life as part of the Manteca community.

Bill was an Automated Warehouseman with MBM Corporation (formerly Carl Karcher Enterprises) for 17 years. Bill was a valued and highly regarded employee, having been instrumental in the training of employees at the company’s facilities in Montgomery, AL. In 2012, he was nominated by the Manteca facility and won warehouseman of the quarter for the entire company.

Bill was an avid bowler for most of his life and finally bowled the elusive 300, a perfect game, on April 30, 2010. He placed second in the Masters Tournament in the 2003-2004 season, earned a jacket for a 750 series, and received several awards from the ABC and the USBC. His love of the game extended to coaching and mentoring upcoming young bowlers, traveling with them to tournaments throughout California. He served as a Director of the Manteca Bowlers Association from 2000-2006 and was a past President of the Bring Home the Bacon League.

Bill’s loving companion, Susan Bower of Manteca, expanded Bill’s interests outside the bowling alley and filled his life with shared joys and adventures. They loved to travel the California coast finding hideaways, treasures, and collecting sea glass. Anytime there was a 49er’s game to be found, they would both be heard cheering for their favorite team!

Bill is survived by his parents, Jerry and Aggie Tacosa, of Manteca; his sisters, Rebecca Gray of Modesto, Audrey Morabito, of San Gabriel and her husband Nick; his nephew, Zachary Gray; and his nieces, Isabel Gray; and Aggie Morabito. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, Bill would want donations to be made out to his niece and nephew Gray, who recently lost their father to his own battle with an immunity illness on January 18, 2013. Donations should be made to: Isabel Gray, a minor by Agnes A. Tacosa, account number 6198625001, Wells Fargo.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m, Saturday, March 2, 2013, at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, located at 290 N. Union Rd in Manteca. For condolences to the family please visit his on-line guest book at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries).
