Wilma Mertis Longpre died February 20, 2018 at home surrounded by family in Kingston Springs, TN. 
   She was proceeded in death by her husband Dr. Roderick James (Jim) Longpre in 2012. She is survived by her loving family, Patricia (Randy) Diven, Annette (Paul) Boomer, Renee’ (Brian) Parks, Mark (Patricia ) Longpre. Nine grandchildren and seven great grand- children.
    She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital, Magna Cum Laude class of 1951. Nursing and faith sustained her as she waited for her husband to return from war. While raising her family she kept her nursing licenses current. Her life included volunteering, working along side husband Jim, golfing, traveling, countless family gatherings, dancing with friends, and praising God each and every day.
    Visitation will begin at
9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28 with a rosary recited at 9:40 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at
10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 535 Sneed Rd., West Franklin, TN. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Nashville, TN.
