A few thoughts on City Council changes

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
As the saying goes – All good things come and go.
A popular song by Bruce Springsteen in 1985 called “Glory Days” certainly can be related, too, by outdoing Councilman Vince Hernandez.
Hernandez had his glory days with 12 years elected and two years appointed by Mayor (Steve) DeBrum and his right-hand man, Councilman Richard Silverman, for a grand total of 14 years
Hernandez will not be forgotten but will be remembered as the King of the Project Manipulators, getting his way for his own pet projects while delaying other projects.
Glory days for Hernandez are over.
Perhaps Hernandez should seek employment as a conductor for the ACE Train – known as the Altamont Corridor Express.
With the Christmas / New Year’s holidays just around the corner, those families seeking a turkey for their Christmas dinner should contact Councilman Silverman as he is as big booster of the ‘Turkeys R Us’ project.
Silverman is better known as the ‘Turkey Man.’
The special council meeting on Dec. 5 was short and to the point – swearing in of newly elected council members.
It is now official that Councilman Gary Singh is now in the good old boy club. Councilman Silverman has been ousted as the mayor pro tem, replaced by newly-elected Singh, followed by second-place vote-getter Debby Moorehead.
Silverman’s glory days are also short lived. Total council time of 31 minutes was almost a record for mayor pro tem time running a meeting.
