Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
On behalf of our Board of Directors at Manteca CAPS,  our staff and most importantly the Consumer’s who are in our care, I would like to thank Chris and Gail Leonard of Leonard’s Photography for a wonderful fund raising event complete with terrific  music and dancing. Hosted by Jackie Arellano at the Main Street Café, Chris and Gail helped to bring awareness to developmentally disabled adults who live in our community and to bring a better understanding about their lives, needs, dreams and desires.

As part of the fund raiser, Chris and Gail invited a group of our consumers to their photography studio for a professional sitting. For many of our consumers, this was the first time in their lives that they have ever had a professional portrait taken of themselves. My simple words in this column fall short in describing the joy and happiness the Leonard’s brought to our consumers that day.  I would also like to thank the musical group Tommy and the Edsels for donating their time and superb musical talents to the evening’s festivities. They were simply fantastic and most gracious with their time. The event was billed by the Leonards as, “Manteca Cares/Year of Giving”, and from my perspective the evening was just that!
