DeBrum’s done a good job as mayor, keeping Manteca moving forward
letter to editor

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I have had the pleasure to know Steve DeBrum for close to 30 years. I am proud to call him and his entire family close friends. Our families have been there for each other in good times and challenging times.

I personally want to thank Steve and his wife Veronica for attending my Granddaughter Emily’s going away party as she left for the United States Air Force this past week.

Well before Steve entered the hectic world of politics, he was constantly attending events, donating his auctioneering skills, contributing items to various organizations, and giving of his valuable and limited time. He has continued to be very involved to this day.

I have been working on behalf of young people for 43 years and I can say that Steve has been very dedicated to many activities that support our youth, seniors and those less fortunate. He has been involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca/Lathrop, Give Every Child a Chance, Second Harvest Food Bank, Manteca Pumpkin Fair, Manteca Sunrise Kiwanis, Manteca Chamber of Commerce and The Senior Center Breakfast Crew to name a few.

In closing, I believe everyone who decides to seek elected office and go through this long, difficult and challenging process does so with the intent to make a difference, and I applaud all of them for their efforts. On election day, vote with your heart and who you feel will be best for the community. With that said I believe Steve has done a good job as Mayor and know that he takes his responsibility very seriously and works hard to make decisions that will keep moving Manteca forward. I hope you will consider Steve for Mayor on Nov. 6.
