Don’t forget the machete when your drive
letter to editor

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I realize in this time of absurd political correctness that one has to be cautious in our wording of news stories, but in regards to someone waving a machete out of their car window, I really wonder if there could be any intention other than being threatening.  (Tuesday’s Bulletin story headlined, “ Road rage includes machete, blow torch”.)

Well, maybe I could be wrong, maybe it was celebratory or maybe he was just signaling a turn. I don’t really know, but what I am particularly fascinated by is the very fact that he “had” a machete in his car in the first place. I always forget to bring mine. I won’t anymore, just in case I might need to cut through some jungle that pops up on my way home.
