Enforce laws against illegal fireworks

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

Let me start out by saying that I am a very proud American.  I served six years in the United States Navy, and 17 years in the United States Army for a total of 23 years.

I am the first one to say that all holidays in this country should be celebrated with pride by every American, especially Independence Day (July Fourth).  I cannot understand why some people in Manteca insist on blowing up firecrackers and other very loud explosives starting three weeks prior to the Fourth and continuing days and even weeks after.  Where are they from?  This happens year after year, and has gotten worse as years go by.  Do they even have a clue what Independence Day is?

If they were Americans, they would wait until the Fourth to celebrate.  Why are these people so inconsiderate of their neighbors?  I thought illegal fireworks were exactly that, “illegal”.  Not only do they disrespect people’s privacy, they are also very ignorant in regards to public safety, they play with this stuff and are dumb enough to think that nothing will happen.  It’s too bad this is allowed to go on.  If there are laws in place to prevent this sort of behavior why aren’t they being enforced?
