Impressed with Phil Waterford

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I decided to get an oil change for my Ford F-150 pickup in town. Not so unusual in itself.

While my pickup was being serviced, a gentleman came in and asked if I wanted a car wash? My pickup was really dirty with ashes from the fire and dirt. I said, “I had planned to do that next.” He stated that “if I didn’t mind having a short wait he would have it washed.” Great.

Well, Mr. Phil Waterford thought there was staff to help wash the pickup, but there was nobody there. So come to find out Mr. Waterford rolled up his sleeves, and not only did he wash it but cleaned the inside, waxed the chrome and oiled the leather. My pickup looked like it came off the showroom floor.

What a delightful man. It made my day. He never complained, he just did what he said he would do. So that you very much Mr. Waterford and Manteca Ford.

I’ll be back.
